Sometimes, you just need a glass of wine!

Now, I'm not a big drinker, but I do enjoy the occasional night out (or in!) and having a few drinks.  Alcohol doesn't exactly work well when it comes to weight loss.  I know that, you know that, we all get it.

Then you have "that" kind of day.  It's raining out.  You wake up late.  You forget to pack lunch.  Work is just crazy.  If you're female, it's probably also that time of the month.  There's nothing at the house for dinner, and you're too tired to go shopping.

You just need a glass of wine.

The glass of wine is fine, but it's a problem when it turns into 3 margaritas!  I always set out with good intentions to just have my glass of wine, but I give into social situations and have a few overly sweetened beverages.  Those drinks completely use up my weekly points plus allowance, and it's not even a pleasant experience when you think about it!

So, I am vowing to have that glass of wine when I want it, but just that glass of wine.  No second glass, no other mixed drink, they're not worth it!  The more I think about it, I really don't enjoy the feeling of being drunk, nor do I enjoy the way I feel the next day either!

So, count on me to be your designated driver!  Then I won't drink anything!

A Man's View: Meh

Week 10.  2.4 lbs gained.  Obviously, I need to reassess my ways of doing things.  My assumptions are incorrect, my laziness is taking over, and the scale is going up.  FML.

It is time that I grab ahold of the reins of my weight loss and try to hold myself to a higher standard, like my wife.

I'm going to try and be out of the house by 8am to go workout, and I'm going to be more responsible when it comes to logging in my points and keeping track of what I'm eating.  And stop eating so much peanut butter (a little is good for you, but I like to eat it by the cupful!).   That's just gross.

I don't feel like posting a picture from today, so here's one from yesterday before I found out that I gained weight!

Week 10 Weigh In

Current Weight: 199 lbs

Weekly Loss: 0 lbs    Total Loss: 23 lbs

I had a feeling I wasn't going to lose, and I'm okay with that!
I'm just really glad I didn't venture back into 200 land.

This week started off with a night out.  That included nacho's and many margaritas.  I honestly tracked the whole evening, and never went over my weekly points, but it couldn't have helped at all.

I also wasn't as active this week since I'm on vacation (not a tropical vacation, just a not-at-work vacation).  I still went to the gym pretty much every day, but then instead of keeping busy all day as I usually do, I spent a lot of time lying around.  I don't regret that, I needed the rest, especially since things are going to be super busy when I go back to work.

My goal starting this week is to drink a lot more water.  I'm going to keep my bottle at my side and drink away.  Hopefully the frequent trips to the water cooler and bathroom will also get me a little more activity as well!  Hey, it can't hurt!

P.S.- if you didn't try the Faux-sotto recipe from yesterday, you need to.
It may be the best thing ever!

P.P.S.- I went for my massage yesterday, and it was fantastic!

Faux Risotto

I love risotto, but it's not the most diet friendly dish out there.

I have been experimenting, and this is delicious!!!  It's not as loose as risotto, but it's pretty darn delicious!  The veggies are interchangeable, I tend to use whatever is in the house, but the version below is my favorite so far!  Even my hubby liked it, but he wouldn't eat the veggies, so I might make him a batch with broccoli.

The recipe below makes one very large serving.  If you are going to serve it with a salad or a soup, it could be 2 smaller servings as well.  The entire recipe has a Points+ value of about 7 depending on how much broth you use.

I served this as a side with tilapia, but it would go great with any protein!

Vegetable Faux-sotto

Ingredients:
1/4 cup barley
2 cups chicken broth
1 bunch asparagus, chopped into bite sized pieces
2 portobello mushroom caps, chopped into bite sized pieces
1/2 white onion, chopped into (you guessed it!) bite sized pieces
1 tbsp Brummel & Brown spread (or similar product)
1/8 cup parmesan cheese

1. Place barley in a pot with 1 cup chicken broth.  Bring to a boil, then simmer over medium heat, covered.

2.  Saute veggies in a pan sprayed with cooking spray until softened.

3.  As the barley cooks, stir every few minutes, and add broth as needed.  Taste after most of the liquid is absorbed.  If it's still hard, you need more liquid, add it now.  I end up using 2 cups, you may need more/less.

4.  When the barley is 90% soft, add the veggies and cover.

5.  When the barley is completely cooked, add the spread and cheese, stir thoroughly and cook for 2 more minutes with the cover off.  Serve nice and hot!

With mushrooms, asparagus and onions!
Just with asparagus

Gym Pet Peeve of the Week

Upstairs at my gym, there's a small area that is designated for women only.  It has free weights and benches, but more importantly, it is the only area in the entire gym that is equipped with floor mats for things such as crunches, push-ups, and anything involving a swiss ball.

So, after finishing my cardio, I head to this area to start my lifting.  There, on the mat, are 2 teenage girls all in their hoodies, lying on the mats (there's only 1 mat with 4 small sections, they are taking up 2.5), flat on their stomachs.

At first, I give them the benefit of the doubt, thinking they might be trying some yoga and in cobra position.  I'm waiting for them to go up to downward facing dog, but, as I should have guessed, they were not doing yoga.  Maybe they were doing push-ups and resting.  Yeah, that's it!

THEY WERE TEXTING!  Now, I text all the time, but why in a gym like that?  I felt like I walked in on a slumber party I was too old to be at, it was creepy.  These 2 are lying there giggling about what boys they are texting (or sexting, barf, who knows!) in the middle of the gym, and I'm doing squats with a huge bar over my shoulders all of 2 feet away!  Since I didn't need the mats at that moment, I didn't say anything, but I glared whenever they made eye contact.  I have a mean glare, yet this did not deter them.

Eventually, a trainer came by before it was swiss ball time for me, and they went running away, giggling all the while.  Girls, save it for slumber parties.  If you're at the gym, at least exercise something besides your thumbs!

Weight Lifting

A lot of women tend to just focus on the cardio aspect of working out, and neglect the weight lifting part.

A while ago, I read a book recommended by a friend from HS who had succeeded in losing weight and getting all fit (thanks Amy S!).  It's called "The New Rules of Lifting for Women:  Lift Like a Man, Look Like a Goddess."  I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a more structured approach as far as what to do in the gym.  The author, Lou Schuler, also has a book for men, but I have not read it.

It starts off with very logical reasoning about why lifting is important, how it can help you lose, etc.  Then it goes into a nutrition plan, and finally a lifting plan.  I enjoyed this book so much because it JUST MAKES SENSE!  Everything in it is so realistic, not propaganda or trying to get you to buy into some program.

Anywho, I've decided to start back up with the lifting plan in his book.  I've been doing some weight training, but I've been lazy about it and just doing whatever floated my boat on that day.  Now, I'm going to be back on a structured routine.

One of the most important things about lifting is FORM.  I cannot tell you how many times I see people, usually women, who are using weight machines horribly wrong.  They are too embarrassed to ask for help, and if you offer it, they get so frazzled that they usually leave with a flushed face.  They don't realize that they could be injuring themselves.

Have no fear of weights!  Venture into that part of the gym with the grunting men.  Have a plan, and know what you're doing.  Don't know how to use something?  ASK!!!  Just because they are grunting doesn't mean they are angry, I promise!  If you don't want to ask them, ask the gym staff or schedule a session with a trainer who can show you what to do.

In the slightly altered words of Ahnald, I'm going to pump *clap*clap* me up!

Wait...I'm a size what??

Since I can remember, shopping for clothes involved grabbing either XL or XXL tops and always both a size 16 and 18 of any bottoms (depending on how much room they allow for my substantial rear-end).  I've been trying NOT to go shopping, because I don't want to spend money on clothes that will hopefully be too big on my in the near future.  I've bought a top here and there, but that's it.

Chris convinced me to go shopping since I've been so miserable with the majority of my clothing being extremely ill-fitting (in a good way!).  So, off we go to the mall.  I don't even know what stores to shop in anymore!  I settle on NY&Co hoping to find some things that I can make work both for teaching and going out.  While grabbing things to try on, I had to force myself to just reach for the Large, not the XL.  Okay, got that done.

Now for some pants.  I grab a 16, and a 14 if by some miracle they would fit.  I found 2 really cute light sweaters that fit me awesomely.  And I walk out to show Chris the tops and the pants.  The pants were doing a weird thing in the crotch, but....

THE SIZE 14'S FIT ME PERFECTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!

No sucking it in to make them close, no muffin top going on.  I'm a size 14.  For reals.  I didn't buy any pants, but it's so cool that they fit.

I'm a happy girl, even though it's snowing again!

A Man's View: Tracking Troubles

This is harder than I thought (that's what she said!).

Hi everyone.  I'm Chris, Lexy's husband.  I started Weight Watchers with her, and so far I have lost 13 lbs (started at 228, now 215) and have gone from a size 38 to almost a size 34.

One of the things I'm having trouble with is estimating my points without logging them in.  If you don't log them in, then you start to assume the point amounts of food, only to find yourself over by 15 points when you finally sit down and track it all.

On days when I go over, I compensate by eating less than my daily points, but that doesn't really work either!

I have to try harder to reach my point target each day, not going over or under how I am now.  I'm hoping that this will bring better results as I go on.

Then I just pet my dogs, and life gets better!

Week 9 Weigh In

Current Weight: 199 lbs BABY!!!

I DID IT!!!

Weekly Loss: 1.2 lbs           Total Loss: 23 lbs (10%)

So, I guess having a rough week didn't stop me from hitting my goal!
I'm calling today to set up my massage appointment!

I've been in the BEST mood ever today.
I'm literally skipping through the halls, singing and laughing!

I think I'm driving everyone here insane!!!

My next goal is to get under 190.
I'm hoping to be able to do that by May.

Thanks everyone for the great support!

At the WW meeting last night, I was talking about my success and such, and the leader asked me after to be a guest speaker at an event they are having in 2 weeks featuring local members who have been doing well.  She really likes how I present myself (I'm pretty entertaining and knowledgeable if I do say so myself), and even suggested that once I hit my overall goal that I become a leader myself.  Sweet!

I would also like to announce that on every Sunday, my husband will be a guest poster.  He will be talking about similar topics but from a guy's perspective.

Check it out!

Not having a great week

I'm having a crappy week.  Nothing in particular is wrong, but I feel like I may be getting sick, and I've been even busier than usual.  Those two things are exhausting me!!!  I didn't have any time to get to the gym on Tuesday, and my stomach was doing all sorts of horrible things that prevented me from attending my favorite yoga class.

For the first time in my life, I felt bad about not being able to exercise!  Insane!  If I wasn't afraid of vomiting in the middle of downward dog, I would have forced myself to go to yoga.  Unfortunately, it would have been ugly... and gross!

I've kept my eating on track, but I'm still not hopeful about my weigh-in later.  I already have decided that I'm not going to be pissed if I didn't reach my goal this week, but who knows, maybe I did better than I think!

On a more optimistic note, winter recess is in 2 days, so I'll have a week to get myself back to normal.  Hopefully this mini-cold I have will go away, and I can quickly get my routines back on.  I miss being able to actually cook and eat a normal dinner instead of eating a sandwich on the run.

Check back tomorrow for the weigh-in results!!!  Keep your fingers crossed!!!

Gym Pet Peeve of the Week

You've all seen them.  The big, buff, overly tanned guys who strut themselves around the gym with a gallon of water in one hand and muscle milk in the other, grunting and staring at themselves in the mirror non-stop.

Now, before you criticize, I have no issues with body builder types.  I think it's amazing that anyone could be so dedicated to physically alter their body into that kind of shape.  The tanning?  I blame Jersey Shore...

Anywho, my issue is with the few meatheads that just think they are the coolest people ever and have really loud, somewhat inappropriate conversations like no one else is anywhere in the same room.

The other day, I was filling up my water bottle at the fountain.  These 2 guys were waiting behind me.  One of them just booked a trip to Brazil and was so excited about all of the action *wink*wink* he was anticipating.  The other guy (who happened to be orange and bulky) went on about all of the different STD's you could get there, how amazing South American women are in bed, etc.

After I left with my full bottle and went to my machine a good 40 feet away, I could still hear Mr. Meaty discussing how he once dated a Columbian woman who would be naked every time he came home and couldn't wait to jump his bones, hottest thing ever, blah blah blah.

Dude, not only do I not believe a word you are saying (aside from urging your buddy to have safe sex), but I have no need to know what a gross pig you are.  Nor do I think that you would want anyone else to know this about you, since you pose with your protein shake and chat it up with the girls who come to the gym to do nothing else but walk around looking pretty.

I appreciate your concern for your friend and not wanting him to get a disease, but end it there.  Go grab a beer later and have the other conversations, or if you still want your protein, go make a white russian with your muscle milk!

Wait... I eat that much in one day?!?!?

I know you've all heard it and read it a million places before, but it's true!

One of the biggest techniques that has been helping me lose weight is keeping track of everything I eat.  WW has a great online tracker that I can access on my phone.  I always put in the foods BEFORE I eat them, and that keeps me from unintentionally sabotaging myself by eating way too much of something.  It also makes me very aware of what I'm putting in my body.

Even before I started WW, whenever I used some method of tracking what I put into my body, I've been successful.  I've used apps for both the iPod touch and my Evo that track calories, and both made me hold myself accountable for what I eat.

Tracking also makes me feel better about enjoying something I really want.  I figure out a portion that fits into my plan for the day without depriving myself totally or overdoing it.

If you are trying to lose weight or just to eat right, start writing down what you eat.  You don't have to include nutritional info if you're not worried about it, just keep yourself mindful of what you are consuming.  You'll realize just how many times you mindlessly eat throughout the day.

I have to admit, I've kind of gone overboard with the tracking thing, but it really helps me!  I measure out everything at my house before I eat it.  I look up restaurant menus before going out and figure out exactly what I'm having and how many points it will be (P.S.- why don't all restaurants have their menus online?  Most do, but too many still don't!  I'll rant about that in another post).  I plan the whole day around a meal out.  It may be compulsive, but it's working!  I constantly force my husband to track his foods because it bothers me when he hasn't tracked for a whole week (but he has like a gazillion points and just eats the same things over and over again!).

And, if you're like my husband and I, you'll send each other messages and pics of foods you would love to eat except that the disturbing nutritional information makes you physically ill!  Like a slice of fettucini alfredo pizza (is there really a need for all of that?  Have pasta or pizza, not both!  The 2 pieces of broccoli in there does not make it any better!) or a meal consisting of multiple buckets, yes, buckets, of fried chicken that a single person is consuming in one sitting (I like my fried chicken, but not by the bucket full!).

Try it for one week, or even just one day.  I dare you!!!

Busy Days and Small Meals

So, I have a lot of very long, busy days.  As you know, I'm also going to the gym at night, so my days get very long.  I usually get home around 9, and don't feel like eating dinner that late, not to mention that I can't deny the hunger pangs around 5!!!

I've started to try the whole "many small meals" type of eating.  I'll have my yogurt for breakfast, a fig bar as a snack, a sandwich for lunch, something else as a snack, usually another sandwich to munch on as "dinner" and as fuel before the gym, then a light little something before bed (usually chocolate almond milk and meringues if I have the points left).

I didn't know at first if I would be satisfied eating this way, but I am!  I actually feel like I'm eating so much more food this way.  Normally I would have breakfast, lunch, and a huge dinner, with about one snack in there.  I don't miss the one huge meal at all, something that surprises me!

How do you deal with eating on days when you're busy for a very long time?

Tempeh

So, during our travels to Trader Joe's, I came across 3 grain tempeh.  I had heard of it before, but never seen or tasted it.  I'm always looking for other ways to get protein into my diet, so I picked some up.

Last night, I threw together a stir fry using the veggies I had in my house, whole wheat pasta, some ginger stir fry sauce and sriracha (OMG hot but awesome).  What I was missing was protein!  I didn't have any chicken or enough shrimp or anything.  Enter tempeh...

I wasn't too sure what to do with it, so I cubed it up and tossed it in with the veggies so it could brown up.

I ended up really enjoying it!  It had a texture that reminded me of really dense barley.  Like tofu, it really tastes like whatever you cook it with.

So, if you see a pack, pick it up and give it a whirl!

Cleaning out the Closet

This past weekend, Chris and I had a mountain of clean laundry to put away.  Before we did so, we decided to clean out our dressers and closet.

What a great feeling!  I decided to finally get rid of anything that doesn't fit me well anymore because I refuse to need to fit into larger clothes after this point.  I also got rid of clothes that I'm just not going to wear.  All will be donated or given away.

It also enabled me to find my hidden stash of clothes that used to be too small on me, but now fit me!  Woohoo!!!  Now I can put off shopping for newer clothes for a little while longer since I have something that fits!

I suggest you do the same thing.  You know that shirt that's been hanging in your closet for 3 years but you haven't worn once?  GET RID OF IT!!!  Those pants that are 2 sizes too big and no belt can make them look like they fit?  GET RID OF THEM!!!  Even if you end up with less clothes than you would like, you know you're only keeping the things that you actually wear, not keeping things that just take up space.

Trader Joe's

Grumpy Gills has gone!  Yay!  Now, onto the real topic...

Every once in a while we make a pilgrimage to Trader Joe's.  I always forget just how much I love so many of the products there!  They always have something new and fun to try out!

I always try to keep some of their brick pack soups stocked up in my house.  The low-sodium butternut squash soup has 2 WW Points+ per cup, and 2 cups has only 3 Points+!  Their low-sodium creamy tomato soup is my all time favorite!  It has 3 WW Points+ per cup, 1.5 cups for 4 Points+.  Either one is perfect to warm you up on a cold day.  Pair it with one of their toasted ciabatta rolls (Points+ 3) and you have a nice winter's lunch.

I also discovered their salsa.  Now, TJ's has a million different salsa varieties.  We bought 3 different ones to try, and our favorite can be found in their refrigerated section in a small clear plastic container.  It's their regular mild Salsa, not the chunky one.  It's so good!  It has vinegar in it that really makes it stand out from regular jarred salsa.  Pair that with some blue corn chips and have a party!

My new go-to hunger food are the "This Fig Walks Into a Bar" cereal bars.  They have a WW Points+ value of 3, and are a great way to stave off hunger pangs.  I keep them at work, home, and in my bag so I always have one around.
They're a decent size, too!

What are your favorite discoveries at Trader Joe's?  Anything I should try?

Grumpy Gills

I'm grumpy.  I'm weepy for no reason, and I hate that!  My eyes are puffy.  I need some sunshine.  I need this headache behind my left eyeball to disappear.  I need all of the papers on my desk and everything on my to-do list to just go away!

I'll stop the whining now, I promise!  I feel better getting it out there!

Usually, when I'm in this kind of mood, I want to sit and eat.  Preferably chocolate in any form- hot cocoa, ice cream, you name it!  Today it's tough to stick to my plan, but I'm going to do it or else I know I'll be in an even worse mood!

For now, it's a WW Dark Chocolate Turtle (no turtles were harmed in the making of this product, only pecans!) to fend off my cravings.  It's actually really yummy and satisfying, even though it's small, and has a WW Points+ value of 2.

Here's hoping that by tomorrow my funk disappears!

...but I'm soooooo tired!!!!

One of the biggest ways I used to hurt myself was by making excuses.  I can't go to the gym tonight because I'm too busy.  I ate really bad foods all week because I didn't feel great.  When you really think about it, why do we make so many excuses that just hurt ourselves?  It's not like we're doing anything that effects anybody but ourselves.

I stopped making excuses, and I think that that one change has helped me to be successful this time around.  Even if I'm tired, I still drag my butt to the gym.  Even if I only get on a machine for 20 minutes, it's 20 minutes more than nothing, and I feel better about myself for putting in the effort.

There are times throughout the week that I just want to pull into Carvel and grab a large extra thick chocolate shake, but is it really that good?  I am more satisfied by making chocolate milk at home with unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze and light chocolate syrup, not because it tastes better, but because I don't have to feel guilty for guzzling useless calories.

So, if you're having a tough time getting on track, see what excuses you make for yourself.  Try to go a week without making any excuses to yourself, just do what you set out to do in the first place.  It's not that hard, and you'll feel so much better about yourself!

Let me know how it goes!

Easy Catalina Chicken Dinner

One of my favorite dinners growing up was catalina chicken.  My parents would take chicken wings and legs, coat them in catalina dressing, and bake until the chicken was cooked and the dressing was nice and thick.

My version uses chicken breasts and fat-free dressing to improve the stats.  The recipe below is for one person, multiply accordingly.  It has a WW Points+ value of about 10.

Ingredients:

8oz.  raw chicken breast, cubed
1/2 cup fat-free catalina (or french, just make sure it's not creamy) dressing

Directions:

1.  Pre-heat oven to 400.

2.  Place chicken in a small oven safe dish.  Cover with dressing and toss.

3.  Put dish in the oven and cook until chicken is no longer pink in the center (about 15 minutes).

4.  Remove chicken pieces to a plate, and put remaining sauce into a small saucepan  (you can always add more at this point if you want it to be more saucy!).  Cook over medium heat until it has reduced to a nice, thick texture.

5.  Pour sauce over chicken and enjoy!  Serve with rice or barley.

Looks strange, tastes great!

Sooooo easy, sooooo delicious!!!

Week 7 Weigh In

Current Weight: 204.4 lbs
Weekly Loss: 2 lbs           Total Loss: 17.6 lbs

I thought that a day of delicious but unhealthy food and drinks on Saturday might ruin my week, but I guess it didn't!  I've been working out a lot, and really feeling good.

I just might reach my goal of being under 200lbs by the end of the month!!!  WOOHOO!!!

Gym Pet Peeve of the Week

I have germ issues.  Not so many that I compulsively wash my hands or anything, but I cringe when I see germy situations.

So, the other night at the gym, I was on my favorite elliptical again (yay!).

Those 2 annoying women from last week were back, although still not exercising- literally- their machines weren't even registering movement.   I listened in this time, it was too entertaining not to!

"Do you think I burned off 400 calories yet?  I only had a Lean Cuisine for lunch, but I also had 2 regular Snapples.  I just love those things!"

I wanted to scream at them!  Get off the machine and let someone else use them!  Go chat about your empty calories over a steaming extra large cup of regular hot cocoa from DD that they were talking about how much they love!  WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!

Anyways, I digress.  After they finally decided they were tired of standing still, they left.  This middle-aged man got on the machine next to me.  As he began to workout, he had to pause after a minute because of the whooping cough problem he appears to be having.  COUGHING LIKE CRAZY!  So, cough over, he wipes his hands and face with his towel, and resumes working out.  Okay, maybe he just swallowed his spit down the wrong pipe or something, give the guy the benefit of the doubt.

1 minute later, HACKING UP A LUNG!!!  I can hear the phlegm trying to escape his lungs!!!  Cough attack over, little towel wiping action, and back we go.

After about 4 times, he finally quits.

Then he just walks away from the machine WITHOUT SPRAYING IT DOWN.  Our gym, like most, provides spray bottles with sanitizing solution and paper towels.  A good gym member is supposed to wipe down the machines after using them so I don't have to touch your sweat or germs.  Not this guy.  He just walks away.  Luckily, no one went to that machine, and when I was finished, I cleaned both so no one else catches the plague from this guy.

The worst part?  I assumed that he was going to leave since he was obviously having breathing issues.  But no.  He was working his way around the weight machines and free weights, coughing away and using that same towel that needs to be quarantined by this point.

I need to go wash my hands now...

Midday hunger

You know that time towards the end of the work day when lunch is already over and done with, but dinner is still a ways off, and your stomach just can't make it?

I try to keep snacks on hand at work to satisfy this hunger without scarfing down whatever goodies may be hanging out in the Faculty Room or in the office.

My new favorite go-to snack is a packet of Quaker Oats Lower Sugar Flavored Oatmeal.  I pour a packet in a mug, add hot water from my coffee maker, a packet of Splenda, and in a few minutes I have some scrumptious, filling oatmeal to enjoy.  I particularly enjoy the Apples and Cinnamon flavor since the bits of apple add fun texture!

When you prepare each packet with water, it has a Points+ value of 3!  Hooray!  This is also perfect for those days when you forgot to have breakfast.

I'm going to go enjoy some right now!

Best Yoga Class EVER

A while ago I took part in the yoga classes offered at my gym.  I really enjoyed the woman who led the class, and felt like I got a great stretch and some relaxation which can never hurt.

Then, when I wanted to get back into it, I saw she was gone!  So, first class, the instructor wasn't there, so we had a sub.  SHE SUCKED!  Oh man, I really was so turned off and disappointed, I was hesitant to keep it up.

I'm so glad that I did go back for more yoga, though!  The next time, Nick was back.  He was great, and it was a great workout on top of all the stretch and relaxing benefits.  The muscles in my legs/back are always on the tight side since my ACL surgery, and he did so much with these muscles to stretch them out.  My arms and abs are sore from YOGA!!!  Whodathunkit!?!?!

So, Nick, thank you for your awesomeness.

Check out my awesome yoga mat!  And one of my awesome dogs doing her version of downward dog!
And she's down!  Namaste!
